Sleeves rolled up, muck boots on, joined in purpose across the miles… I feel fortunate every day to be surrounded by people building a better future.

You'll find yourself giving him your most kind & warm smile, wondering about him after you leave, and hoping beyond hope that you provided some warmth or connection in those few moments... which is really just something this world needed more of anyway. (4/5)

I got chills as this room full of @wifarmersunion members quietly pulled out their notepads & phones to write down @usdafsa Administrator Ducheneaux’s phone #. What an honor & privilege to meet OUR administrator and know he trusts us to call him as we work on that better future.

I’ve said before that many of the corporate abuses in the Jungle are frighteningly similar to the abuses we see from consolidated industry today. This is a truly horrifying example of how terribly companies with unchecked power treat human life. dol.gov/newsroom/relea…

Exciting that rural folks like me might eventually have some access to broadband... if the corporation that has a monopoly on my neighborhood sees some value to moving the end of their line out of the "underserved" category. usda.gov/media/press-re…

Never ever thought I'd be a babywearing, cloth diapering, attachment parenting, occasional bedsharing kind of mother but here we are. I blame rotational grazing on my downhill slide to becoming a crunchy mom.

A pleasure to join an array of friends at @NFUDC’s offices to collaborate on leveraging #foodsafety grant funds to support small/mid-scale & marginalized farmers. It’s so fun to meet with like-minded folks to learn & strategize future efforts! @MNFarmersUnion @IAfarmersunion

@AnneSchwagerl I’m so sorry that our country’s antitrust enforcement has let you (and so many of our neighbors) down like this.

@annahultberg @TheGoodAcreMN @NFUDC @2harvest Yes, the @wifoodhub is one of the primary grant partners in WI. There is a lot of opportunity to use these funds to move ourselves toward the food system we want to see. I hope everyone is doing it with a goal of creating long-term sustainability after the grants dry up.

@TheGoodAcreMN @NFUDC @2harvest That is such a great point. They said in WI the focus was on using LFPA funds for hunger relief. Hope they are also supporting hubs. Would love visit hubs in WI and IA to see how they work. Road trip!

At @NFUDC DC office for a day of food safety education discussion among #NIFA #FSOP awardees. Lots of great ideas. Much talk abt using the LFPA and LFS money coming through from USDA to support local purchasing. How can this huge new influx of $ actually flow to undeserved farms?
