imo this isn't a dick move, because it's about making fics more accessible rather than attacking personal tastes, e.g. "This trope sucks". I'd consider a comment like this to be very sweet, like, "I'd like to read your fic but I'm struggling with the formatting."

we didnt get rick backsliding from 6x09 cuz that would've required him going forward first anyway imo 9x04 was a far less infuriating "rick pisses morty off" episode. it was painful but i wouldnt change it

but also because of thd angst potential?!?! imagine he makes so much progress with his relationship w morty, treating him w love n respect comes more naturally, but then he still replaces himself cuz, idk, he thinks he can't give morty what hd wants. that'd be an epic backslide.

this ep has me thinking back to 6x09-10 (sry, back on my bs) and i wish it had been revealed that rick replaced himself at the END of the knights of sun adventure rather than the start. partially cuz i wish it was the real rick who hugged morty and called him junebug
