The Balconettes is like Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window meets 5th wave feminism. Beautiful to look at, aimlessly surreal, big on subtext. I think director Noemie Merlant is saying “Men, stop raping women” but I could be wrong.

I’ve heard all the hype about Weapons. Planned my entire weekend around watching it. I didn’t realize it wasn’t available to stream yet. So I went with Sinners instead. I may be like 6 months late with this critique but that was one of the most overhyped overrated movies of all time. If you say that movie was great you have no movie credibility with me.

Weapons was that special theater experience that fills your heart. Everyone in the audience laughing, roaring and cringing at the same beats. Then after the credits roll, everyone quickly crowding into the lobby to discuss with friends and strangers. Fucking love movies man.
