A police officer boards an AC coach without a ticket and occupies a seat that’s legally allotted to a passenger. When the rightful passenger arrives and asks him to vacate, the officer arrogantly refuses and says, “Go sit on some other seat.” The passenger calls the TTE. The TTE clearly asks the officer to move or show a ticket. The response? Absolute entitlement. The officer openly declares, “We don’t take tickets. We’re in government service. We travel for free.” Even when the TTE warns that the RPF will be called, the officer refuses to budge and repeats, “I have a government job.” This isn’t authority. This is abuse of power. When those meant to enforce the law start breaking it in public, law and order turn into a joke. Uniforms are for responsibility not for intimidation. If this goes unchecked today, tomorrow no honest passenger will feel safe or respected.
