@kimchicel @sampladelica a lot of trans men like That are aware that being seen as a man who is feminine isn’t a fun experience so many of them would rather opt for being seen as female if it means they can still be feminine and less targeted by people they encounter in passing

Rlly bothers me when ppl act like the options are “boring guy” or “not passing” im not alt or anything but im so obsessed w menswear, there are so many kinds of guy, you do not have to be boring to be masculine.

@IEnlois238083 there was one specific comment i saw on one of sophia’s videos where a trans woman said that in japan, trans people and bodybuilders in the 20th century went to the same ‘doctors’ and that nobody said anything because it was understood that they were all ‘weirdos’

@IEnlois238083 a lot of pre 2010s trans history is also just ‘word of mouth’ because again, no one understood trans people and healthcare was limited. one of my mom’s friends is a trans man who has gone to mexico for cheap hrt when his endocrinologist would wait too long to refill it!

i think it is always funny when trans men and mascs pretend that diy’ing for trans people hasn’t always been the norm because trans men were in fact interacting with bodybuilders to source testosterone if not just crossing the border to mexico to smuggle it back

@rabidmushroom there’s cis women who were/are blasting five steroids beyond just T at a time (wouldn’t recommend obviously) and they at worst get stares from the seller but a client is a client.

also that this is where the fine line between ‘crossdresser/transvestite’ of some sort and ‘transsexual’ came from and why transgender was proposed as a term to catch all of it, but that’s an even longer discussion about transmedicalism

@catboy_collectr i like to imagine that the super stylized scars are just tattoos that are over scars and also understand that pre op trans men/mascs, namely teenagers, are trying to normalize the idea that they may have scars after surgery and draw them in a cooler way to help with that
