Declan Rice has been phenomenal this season, a throwback to the all round midfield 8. A pivotal influence in Arsenal’s title charge - pinpoint deliveries, Lampard-esque box crashing & an untiring defensive workhouse. He also ticks all the boxes for a steady FPL pick. I started GW1 with him last season because of how strongly he ended the season prior. However, Arsenal as a whole were quite jaded throughout. It looks like this is the season he & the team steps up another level. He’s on my GW23 watchlist ✍🏽 #FPL #PremierLeague

As a Middlesbrough fan, my observation in recent years is the Championship has been dominated by 1-3 teams, followed by close competition between 6-8 teams. The same tight margins separating 2nd & 3rd also separate 6th & 7th. So while this move would be undoubtedly less fair for the 3rd place team (that almost always deserves automatic promotion), it would be more fair for the majority of play-off challengers. All that to say - I think it’s a nice idea but I don’t think it would make a huge difference to the competitive level.

I do not follow the Championship enough to really comment... Those who do, what do you think? Seems weird... Team who finishes 8th can get promoted to the Premier League over a team who misses out in 3rd by 1 point?

Haaland to Salah seems a little less crazy now. Will feel even less crazy if Salah does well tomorrow. I don’t hate it as a move. Huge differential for a 0.3m value hit. Makes GW31 easier to manage. Be awful if City vs Palace goes back into GW31 though.

a little bit tempted by Haaland + Rice to Thiago + Palmer for a hit, captain Palmer then just go Palmer to Salah next week… Will probably end up rolling, but I do think Palmer is the best captain this week!
