@AzulaLazuli @MaryLouMcDonald I think people believed they were eating Irish meat because they saw the Bord Bia logo. Now we must actually read the back label. I won’t trust Bord Bia from now on and really they should be disbanded. Their only purpose is to promote Irish meat. The head guy should be jailed.

@MaryLouMcDonald Can everyone please only eat Irish meat? Can we unite on that? Stop buying from restaurants, takeaways or supermarkets that don’t clearly describe their produce. It’s an animal welfare, human health, economic & environmental issue. We know ours is best. Why shouldn’t WE have it?

I have written to the Taoiseach calling for the immediate resignation of the Chairperson of Bord Bia, Larry Murrin. He was appointed by the government and his position is utterly untenable after revelations that his company has been importing Brazilian beef into Ireland. The job of the chair of Bord Bia is to promote Irish food around the world. His actions undermine that and damage Irish farming and the agri food sector.
