Update: the crossing is supposed to be replaced Thursday morning. Then they are going to remove it again next week to continue rail work. They replaced neighbours’ crossings but not ours as they skipped over the work that was within town limits, which includes our crossing.

Day 10 of being unable to harvest our soybean crop because @CPKCrail removed our farm crossing with no notice. Can’t get any answers or call backs on when to expect it fixed, and that’s our only access to the field.

@FarmerHobbs @CPKCrail @OntarioFarms @ArpanKhanna That’s possibly tomorrow’s plan haha. With a long weekend coming up we’d really like to see it fixed (and beans harvested!) sooner rather than later.

@FarmerHobbs @CPKCrail @OntarioFarms Reached out to them last week. We contacted @ArpanKhanna at their suggestion. His office is also waiting on a response. We finally got a “we will see what we can do” response from CPKC. Which is at least a response of some sort I guess…..

@RiverBendFarms @CPKCrail Apparently a farmer in the area found his phone number and raised a stink. They skipped over fixing the stuff in town (which includes our crossing). They are going to “see what they can do” to get it fixed this week, then remove again for more work.

@islandviewag @Campbellgrain @farmerlefty @CPKCrail Finally a response that they skipped over the rail work in town and did all the rural stuff. They will see what they can do 🤨 But then will need to remove it again for resurfacing the rails…..

@islandviewag @Campbellgrain @farmerlefty @CPKCrail Haha quit long ago! (“Smoke” breaks at conferences are actually to get fresh air and some steps in.) Just frustrating when the crops mature and should be coming off this week. Glad we weren’t planning on wheat for that field.

@v_dibble @farmerlefty @CPKCrail Local farmer made many calls to CP a number of years ago to get the ditch cleaned so his tile would work better. Things happened quickly after he sent an excavator into the ditch and started the job. Had a visit with CP a day or so later and everything got resolved quickly.

@farmerlefty @CPKCrail So frustrating. And can’t get answers as to when it will be fixed. Literally ripped it out as soon as beans were mature. Any chance you’ve got a contact who might have answers?
