149 leopards dead in MP in 14 months. That’s more than 10 leopards every single month. New RTI data exposes that ACCIDENTS are the leading cause of death. Yet, the Forest Dept calls this "well within the accepted range." Since when is a preventable roadkill an acceptable statistic? The breakdown is haunting: 31% died in road accidents (19 on highways). 14% lost to poaching, snares, and electrocution. 9 % causes unascertained. When we build roads through their homes without proper mitigation, its not an accident, its a design flaw. MP might have the highest population (3,907), but that is not a license to "accept" preventable deaths as statistics. They’re cutting down 250 year old banyan trees in Nashik for the upcoming Kumbh Mela. I want development in my city, but it honestly hurts to see trees that have stood for generations being cut down. There are many ways to deal with such issues, but this just feels wrong💔
