Standalone HEPA purifiers, as recommended by SAGE during the pandemic made a ~ 20% difference to underlying illness absence.
As we have been discussing @nathan_wood_8, purifiers need to work to enhance the air exchange rate in classrooms as well as purifying the air near the unit

The filters in the pre-made filters are tiny in comparison. CADR drop off in ready made purifiers will be much more significant than a filter box with a HUGE amount of filter media.

Totally agree. A #corsirosenthalbox in a window “blowing in” would provide a large quantity of clean ventilation air and create positive pressure protecting the room from other airborne contaminants.

@JimRosenthal4 Jim, thoughts on Positive Input Ventilation style CR boxes. Put classrooms under 2.5Pa of pressure to stop ingress of outside pollution through ingress. You could also have standard CR Boxes in the room too. Need careful consideration where the supply air comes from...

I offered to get HEPA filters for every classroom for our kids' schools back in 2020.
The schools turned them down because they said it would stop children from getting necessary childhood infections.

This property has been cutting back on central heating this year, and the inside of the 35 year old windows is dropping below the dew-point.
As attractive as they are, these windows don’t have trickle vents installed, so are part of the problem
