@IMPACT__LORD Hey, thanks for the message and for thinking of me. I’m not comfortable pursuing unofficial AWS credit offers, so I’ll have to pass, but I appreciate it!

Most developers treat Amazon S3 like a simple "cloud hard drive." That’s exactly why companies leak millions of customer records or overpay on their AWS bills by 40%. 🛑 If you’re just dropping files into a default bucket, you aren't really using S3. 🧵👇

S3 is an active, event-driven ecosystem. In my latest deep-dive guide, "Amazon S3: From Zero to InterviewReady," I break down how modern cloud architectures actually use it 🔐IAM vs. Bucket Policies (No more data leaks) 💰Slashing bills with Intelligent-Tiering ⚡Lambda triggers

Most AWS tutorials are lying to you. 🛑 They teach you to launch an EC2 in a Public Subnet with a Public IP. It works. It’s easy. It’s also a security nightmare. I just built a production-grade AWS fortress (Multi-AZ, Private Subnets, Bastion) Here is the architecture breakdown

This architecture is the difference between Toy Project and "Production Ready" ✅ Multi-AZ (Fault Tolerance) ✅ Private Subnets (Security) ✅ ALB + Health Checks (Reliability) ✅ Bastion + NAT (Controlled Access) If you're applying for Cloud roles, build THIS. Not Hello World

I tested this by launching 2 instances: A: Healthy App 🟢 B: Broken/Empty 🔴 The ALB (Load Balancer) pinged both. It saw B was dead. It routed 100% of traffic to A. My users never saw an error. That is High Availability.

"How does the private server download updates?" It can't see the internet? Solution: NAT Gateway. It acts like a mailroom. Private Instance ➡️ NAT ➡️ Internet. It allows outbound traffic (updates) but blocks ALL inbound traffic. One-way mirror. 🪞

"But if the server is private, how do I SSH into it?" Enter the Bastion Host (The Security Guard). 👮‍♂️ I launched a tiny EC2 in the Public Subnet. I SSH into the Bastion ➡️ then "jump" to the Private IP. Key: Use scp to pass credentials securely in memory.

The Core Concept: • Public Subnet (Lobby): Only for Load Balancers (ALB) & NAT Gateways. • Private Subnet (Vault): Where the App/EC2 lives. No Public IPs. The internet can only talk to the Lobby. The Lobby talks to the Vault. Zero direct access. 🚫

Why "Public Subnet" is a trap: Your database/app is exposed to the entire internet. Bots start probing your ports immediately. One misconfigured Security Group = Data Breach. Real companies don't do this. Real companies use the "Bank Vault" strategy. 🏦

@bobdontlikecode Great point! Yes, I did run terraform validate and it passed, but the issue came from drift between the real infra and the state file, which validate doesn’t catch. That’s what made this one so tricky 😅

@vikasdane06 did you use terraform validate to check config before apply?
