Just spoke to one of the 11 American doctors trapped in Gaza. They’ve made it out. When I asked how he was, he said, “not much to complain about compared to the things we have seen.”

Spoke to @AymanMSNBC tonight abt the American doctors trapped in Gaza. These 11 doctors aren’t treating cuts and scrapes and doing minor surgeries in Gaza. They're treating children who’ve been deliberately shot in the head by Israeli snipers. Children who have been incinerated and have 3rd degree burns all over their bodies like my client Salsabeel’s son. So, let’s be very clear about what the Israelis are doing here: they are holding these 11 American doctors hostage as a way to discourage future medical missions and silence these brave physicians. The Israeli govt should be ashamed of themselves for undermining medical missions as a way of concealing atrocities against the Palestinian people. And, the Trump admin must remind the Israelis that, under intl law attacking or obstructing a medical mission is a war crime AND that medical personnel are protected under the Geneva Conventions.

🚨 Drop Site’s Ryan Grim reports Israel is blocking 11 American doctors and nurses from leaving northern Gaza. “The principle at stake is whether the Israeli military can arbitrarily detain US citizens,” an ophthalmologist from Dallas told Drop Site.
