Trading isn’t a side hustle. It’s a brutal, 24x7 arena where you’re competing against the sharpest minds and fastest machines on the planet. While you sleep, institutional algos and HFT systems are backtesting, learning, adapting, and hunting for the same edges you’re trying to capture. You need to build 15-20 trading strategies & you need to monitor the market setup regularly . Building durable alpha takes years of rigorous work across multiple strategies & even then, you will live with the constant fear that your edge is quietly decaying. It demands obsession-level commitment: 12+ focused hours a day, every single day, just to stay in the game. Higher -probability path is long term investing and relatively easy . Choose deliberately, 95% of people are better suited for investing than for trading . Very few can do both ( Rare talent ).
