The outcome of this election represents a rejection of progressive values. We must fight harder to protect ourselves from conservative attacks. We will continue fighting to build Black political power, elect progressive candidates and hold them accountable to our communities.

Thank you to COC PAC-endorsed candidate @Bob_Casey for your service as U.S. Senator for Pennsylvania and running campaigns committed to racial justice. To the dismay of Black voters, he lost this year's race after a protracted fight to #CountEveryVote and conceded yesterday.

We are carrying on the legacy of our ancestors who fought for our civil rights. They gave us the power we have today — and we will keep mobilizing to build Black political power for generations to come.

Given the outcome of the presidential election, we must fight harder to ensure Black people are protected against a criminal justice system that seeks to harm us. We will continue to fight for Black Americans by holding prosecutors accountable to building racial justice.

Given the power prosecutors possess, we know that when racial equity is not a priority, unscrupulous prosecutors will use their positions to target and attack the Black community. Unfortunately, the outcome of these elections represents a rejection of progressive values.

Thank you to endorsed District Attorney candidates George Gascón (Los Angeles), Deborah Gonzalez (Athens, GA area), Andrew Warren (Tampa area) and Pamela Price (Oakland area) for running campaigns committed to racial justice. To the dismay of Black voters, they lost their races.

House Democrats have flipped another Republican-held seat, once again defying political gravity. Congrats @bynum4thewin on an amazing victory! Control of the House of Representatives has yet to be decided. Count. Every. Vote.

For the first time in decades, Louisiana will send 2 Black congress members to Capitol Hill after decisive outcomes in elections in both CD2 and CD6. Both districts were created in response to LDF’s decades of organizing and litigation on behalf of Black voters.

This #ElectionDay, @SeanTeareforDA won Harris County District Attorney, serving the Houston area! Prosecutors are the most powerful single actors in the criminal justice system, and the election of a reform-minded prosecutor in Texas gives us hope for a more equitable future.

We know that it takes time to count and verify every vote and that the results are accurate and official in Pennsylvania only when state election officials report them. Dave McCormick should respect the process and let them #CountEveryVote - no matter how long it takes.

This cycle, COC PAC reached ~8 million voters through text and phone banking, digital outreach, and live events to support progressive candidates. We thank our members for their tireless dedication to building Black political power. The fight for true justice continues.

First, we will continue to protect democracy and our country’s free and fair elections. Then, we will work to protect Black people from the dangerous attacks of this administration. We will do all we can to fight the Project 2025-led policies of Trump's administration. (5/6)
