The reason why Linkedin and Insta are 👎 and Twitter and TikTok are 🚀 is because the former focus on curating image and the latter focus on learning

@shriyanevatia Good point, here's another one I found, still abysmal. Totally get the # has exploded in general, but seems more so for men. Why???

@whitneychu 1) I'm really curious about more recent data since this cuts off at about 2015! 2) The %s may have been flat but the overall # *exploded* so that increased for all genders 3) I know recently lg schools had to weed out more CS majors as freshmen...

Yo Gen-Z ladies, can y'all tell me why nobody wants to major in CompSci? I don't get this graph. What happened to all the Girls Who Code camps?!

@sagunamatata Being openminded. Wanting the best idea to win under your mission rather than the founder's idea. Listening to users > listening to opinions. Everyone has an opinion.

What delineates extreme, positive ambition from narcissism ? It feels like a fine line - in order to convince the world of a crazy vision, you have to have extreme self conviction which is easy to spiral into narcissism

you could pay $200k for an MBA OR you could take a picture next to the GSB or HBS sign, set it as your profile photo, and accrue 90% of the same value for ✨free✨

@whitneychu like is just providing inflated metrics? I don’t get how men just get away with it all

Heard a bunch of female VC partners telling a female founder to “lie to them” in her pitch because that’s what men are doing. ....what.

Top 20% = IMO this is the sweet spot. Allows you to strongly select for both skill/ability and personality fit, but still be welcoming/accessible to people who are green & eager to learn/grow. I try to scale all my communities to handle this amount now.

When you run a club, community, or other admissions-based organization, you get a deep understanding of what "Top 50%", "Top 20%", "Top 5%" and "Top 1%" really look like & mean. Being the selector helped me get a deeper understanding of what VCs and other "pickers" look for.
