Criticizing startup influencers got 918 views. Explaining what I’m actually building got 32 😂 There’s probably a lesson in there about what X rewards. Still going to keep posting the work. Progress update -> Soon

I made this account to document my life as a GTM developer and promote Ping. Somehow, I still haven’t explained what Ping actually does. At a high level, Ping lets teams build the software they need inside one shared workspace, using the context already spread across their business. I’m using it to build a GTM system that helps manage work across the funnel, surface useful insights, and turn them into next actions without bouncing between a dozen different apps. And that’s just one use case. Ping is one platform that can adapt to almost any business or organizational need. The only real limitation is what you can think to build.

A lot of “startup influencers” on X are just engagement farmers in founder cosplay. “Drop your startup.” “Prove you’re not AI.” “Reply and I’ll give feedback.” Then they ignore DMs, post slop under the replies, and eventually funnel the audience into some overpriced garbage SaaS product. They contribute nothing and claim they're building a 'community'. Follower count is not credibility.

Starting to think the best GTM teams won’t be the ones with the biggest sales orgs. They’ll be the ones who turn every customer conversation into better product, better messaging, and better process.

I just made Gong and HubSpot accounts solely so Ping could recreate their UI 😂 Now Ping has product inspiration, and I have two free trials I’m absolutely going to forget to cancel.

Imagine building, deploying, and managing all the tools that run your business from one platform. “Can someone please just vibecode the all-in-one app?” . . . 'Me before discovering Ping AI' Excited to share more of what we’re building. Join the waitlist. Link in bio.

Started posting on X to help grow Ping. Two days in and I've realized I have no idea how to write for social media. Coming from a background in non-profit management and outreach, I know how to write emails. One clear message, one ask. Tweets feel different. You're writing for people who don't know you, don't know the product, and owe you nothing. Still figuring it out. Going to keep going anyway.

@omarvvvr Hmmm let me think... Killing bad ideas faster. AI lowered the cost of building, not the cost of building the wrong thing.

if ai is doing "more" of the work, what's the part founders still have to get better at?

The AI ROI skepticism is real. Real AI ROI tends to be smaller and more specific than the pitch: one task that was 2 hours is now 20 minutes, for one type of person, in one context. Teams that get value early pick that narrow win and nail it before expanding. What does your team actually spend the most time on right now?

This model is insane at design. I asked GLM 5.2 (left) and Opus 4.8 (right) to build me a landing page and you can't even tell the difference. GLM cost $0.06 while opus cost $0.49. More than 6x cheaper while being faster + more token efficient. Another win for open source AI.
Z.ai@Zai_org

Introducing GLM-5.2: Frontier Intelligence, Open Weights - Significant improvements in coding and agentic tasks - Strong long-horizon capabilities with a 1M context window - Two levels of reasoning effort: GLM-5.2 (max) pushes the limits, while GLM-5.2 (high) strikes a strong balance between performance and token efficiency - MIT-licensed open weights - Same API pricing as GLM-5.1 Tech Blog: z.ai/blog/glm-5.2 Weights: huggingface.co/zai-org/GLM-5.2 API: docs.z.ai/guides/llm/glm… Coding Plan: z.ai/subscribe Chat: chat.z.ai

Most AI tools are built to impress in a demo. The ones that actually get used are built around a workflow people already have. The gap between "cool in a meeting" and "used every day" is usually just that.

@emollick NotebookLM is genuinely one of the best AI products out there. You open it and it's immediately obvious what to do with it. This is exactly what makes this Google debacle so frustrating. If only Google had a stronger model sitting underneath it.

Its also a shame because Google has some of the most innovative AI apps, like NotebookLM, but they need smarter brains to power them (as well as the harnesses needed for those brains)

Interestingly, Google no longer has a public frontier model. They have a very good flash model, but a very good flash model can't do frontier work without a good frontier orchestrator. I am sure this will change soon, but Gemini 3.1 Pro is very clearly lagging at this point.

@emollick The orchestration layer feels like where the real product gap is right now. Most teams aren't limited on model quality, they're blocked on getting models to reliably do multi-step work without breaking down somewhere in the middle.

Starting this account at 1 follower (hi mom). Most of what I know about growing AI products, I'm learning in real time. Going to post what's working, what isn't, and the weird stuff in between.
