@ghostmthr Yet it appears the files are merely symbolic, of which the contents, whatever their worth, have been projected into an abstracted value chain that is ultimately a pyrrhic repudiation of the truth or a facsimile of it in lieu of its eventual arrival.

There's something dreamlike about the way the steam rises up from New York City's streets in Once Upon a Time in America - as if the entire film exists within Noodles' opium-hazed recollections.

Can I be a snob about how much I loathe this reissue cover or do we just want more people to read Denis Johnson? 🥴

@Kulambq Even as a free jazz list it's sorely lacking. But taste is subjective, not eternal. That's why there's not much sacred on there.

Jazz aficionados and connoisseurs, what is your view of Piero Scaruffi's list of the 20 greatest jazz albums? I should say that my posting of this list does not imply my agreement with it. I say this because last time I posted something by him it caused an internet storm.

A recently arrived Sri Lankan national, Malith Shamera Fernando, who is a “transgender” far left extremist and Pro Hamas supporter has unbelievably avoided jail time for setting off a bomb inside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and possessing dozens more homemade explosives. Shamera Fernando detonated a “homemade incendiary device” in the bathroom of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, seeking to cause “maximum damage” in the apparent terrorist attack. However, the explosion caused a small fire in the middle stall which self extinguished but caused $4600 to the cubicle. Fernando appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to charges including criminal damage, possessing items used to destroy or damage and drug charges. Prosecutor Alex Turner told the court Fernando was captured on CCTV attending the day prior to “scope out” the event, labelling it a “targeted attack” based on her protest ideology which is Pro Hamas. Police raided Fernando’s home at 1am on September 13, discovering 28 undetonated homemade incendiary devices and an “abundance of literature” relating to radical Islam. The weapons and defence expo was the subject of significant protest, as protest groups linked it to the war in Gaza and thousands picketed outside the event. Fernando’s solicitor, Angus Cameron, was full of excuses “she’s someone for whom rehabilitation is really important” Referring to him by his new identity, Cameron added “Ms Fernando made a terrible, terrible error in judgment and she regrets it, she’s taken responsibility for it” While prosecutors pushed for a term of imprisonment, the defense requested a community based order. Magistrate Donna Bakos, obliged. Shamera Fernando is now back walking amongst us, possibly planning his next terror attack. Diversity is our strength.

Right. Just so we’re all clear. Farage and Reform tried to put me in prison because I backed the mass deportation of Pakistani child rapists and their foreign wives/relatives who allowed it to happen. My home was raided by armed police late on a Friday night as a direct result of Reform’s allegations. My guns were seized. They tried to ruin my life. In every way. Farage admitted on national television it was all because I backed mass deportations. He said that was the moment they realised they ‘had to get rid’ of me. Not the bullshit allegations they went to the police with, but the fact I want the Pakistani rapists removed from our country. He admitted it. That all happened. Fair enough. I took it on the chin, and planned out our next step. I founded Restore Britain to give the British people the democratic option to agree with me. Restore Britain will, without apology, deport every last foreign rapist and all foreign accomplices who knew it was happening, yet failed to act. If that means entire communities go, that means entire communities go. I really don’t care. We will rid Britain of that cancer. Now Reform are incandescently angry that we are giving the British people that choice. Deploying increasingly desperate smears against our movement. If people don’t agree, they can vote for someone else who won’t deport. There are plenty of options - Reform, Labour, Tories. Take your pick. Go for it. But if you want those evil scumbags out of our country, along with every foreign coward who enabled it? You now have that genuine option. Restore Britain.

👇Depressing to watch Hollywood & the geriatric millennial harpies that now run it drive multiple legacy IPs into the ground & encourage once-great directors to befoul themselves with gay race communism. But - it's really nice to see the upstart indie movie house A24 continue to showcase new, young talent & show yes, American film can still do creative and compelling things. I am extremely excited to see this film!

Sonny Rollins was great, and I'm really enjoying The Bridge right now, but man, I find his passing sad mostly because he was the last real connection to one of the most incredible stretches of human artistic invention that was post-war jazz.

So I have a (mostly) useless degree in film theory and my personal concentration was National cinema. Meaning the study of how a racial/ethnic group represents themselves, their history, present and future through the artistic medium of film. You will find that every single race of people on earth represent reality differently through film. The essence of that difference is found in the people themselves and what makes them, them. The racial spirit of a people is illustrated through their use of film making and visual storytelling in such a manner that a Bollywood film and a Korean film are so different in the manner of their storytelling, character development, camera techniques etc they might as well be from different planets. My favourite example of this is how Irish cinema is known for its dark, often crude, tragic comedy which mirrors the spirit of the Irish and their history perfectly. French cinema also intertwines deep philosophical ideas with ordinary everyday life and often uses rebellious and bold storytelling/camera techniques. Very in alignment with the French spirit. These distinct artistic differences give visual representation to the distinct differences between the racial spirit of people. What’s even more important though is that the artistic medium of film is in effect a form of collective dreaming. One steps into the theatre, sits back in a comfy seat, the lights dim, the screen illuminates and we experience the film itself in a similar fashion as we would a dream. The cinema provided the enthralling and thrilling experience of a new reality where anything could be possible. Where we could be reminded of who we are and we could imagine who we might be but for the first time as a shared experience. And what are dreams if not the deep internal world which inspires the creation and building of the external material world. Most people think of movies as just entertainment but in reality it is so much more than that. It is programming, guided dreaming and identity creating on the societal scale. What a people dream and feel about themselves internally they become in a sense. This is why these race swapped roles in historical dramas are not merely superficial and are in effect evil. It takes a historical figure, their contribution to the spirit of their race and thus a national identity and transgresses upon it by corrupting the image as belonging to anyone, everyone and therefore no one. It is stolen valour. It is the highest form of cultural erasure in art, it is history rewriting in pursuit of identity destruction. Not surprisingly it is something we exclusively see in roles which rightfully belong to whites. It is the explicit propaganda arm of white replacement. It aims to make us forget who we are, induce a form of collective amnesia about our history and ultimately erase from all future memory the truth of our ancestors heroics and bravery.

Christopher Nolan says Lupita Nyong'o was his first choice to play Helen of Troy in The Odyssey (2026) because the role needed “strength and poise” as much as beauty. “And Lupita makes it look effortless.” “I was absolutely desperate for her to do the part.”

"Don't Dream It's Over" was written by Neil Finn in just one day, sitting at his brother Tim Finn's piano. He was in a bad mood and feeling antisocial because drummer Paul Hester had filled the guest house, he wanted to be alone and ended up isolating himself on the piano.

There's an enraging essay by Mary Grabar (adapted from her book) describing the hatchet job Zinn did on Columbus. Wild stuff. The man shamelessly weaponized the ellipsis (...) to distort his journals and make The Admiral look maximally villainous. Communist scumbag "historians" don't give a damn about what actually happened—they care about crafting a narrative that will advance the Revolution. Zinn taught a generation of "history" teachers, and thus countless students, to hate their country, culture, and civilization.
