Archbishop Cushley has paid tribute to Andrew Sharkey, the former headteacher of St Kentigern's Academy in Blackburn, West Lothian, who died in November aged 54. Speaking at Mass for the school's patron saint, he said: "I want to give thanks to God for the gift of Mr Sharkey and what he was able to do – for his family, for the local community, for the scouts, and for the school."
