A surge of new data centers is reshaping local energy grids, water systems and land use. This rapid expansion is often happening with limited public information about the long-term impacts — or benefits — new data centers could bring. Learn more👉 go.wri.org/data-centers-w… #WorldWaterDay

Did you ever think it’d be possible to count individual trees from space? The @BezosEarthFund supported @WorldResources to make that possible together with @Meta. By harnessing innovations in AI and satellite data, we can monitor forest restoration with unprecedented accuracy at a fraction of the cost and time. A process that used to take over a year now takes three days. That means less time and money spent measuring impact, and more money going to the people restoring forests, protecting water, supporting biodiversity, and strengthening communities. Innovation leads to better data, greater trust, and more restoration. Read more: go.wri.org/forests-ai #InternationalDayOfForests #ForestDay

Forests are carbon removal powerhouses🌲💨💪 Earlier WRI research estimates that the theoretical carbon removal potential from forests and trees outside forests in the United States alone is more than half a gigatonne per year as of 2020. More on the role forests play in carbon removal👉 go.wri.org/forests-carbon #ForestDay

1/6🌱Fundo Flora is investing $3.35 million USD to support 10 locally led restoration projects in Pará, Brazil. Together, they are uniting 26 organizations to restore 1,500 hectares, grow 1 million trees, and benefit 4,000 people. These projects are naturally regenerating the forest and strengthening value chains built on the Amazon’s native species — such as açaí, cocoa, Brazil nuts, andiroba, and copaiba. Led by @wribrasil, Fundo Flora is managed financially by @SITAWI, with anchor funding from the @BezosEarthFund. Learn more: go.wri.org/fundo-flora-tw
