The real story here isn't that a mendacious grifter worked his way up the ladder at CIA, it's that CIA has $40 million in gold bars lying around to be stolen: nbcnews.com/politics/rcna3…

@Phil_Lewis_ @powwow_asu E. Jean CarrolL is Jane Q. Public. When America’s largest law-enforcement agency, DOJ., becomes a tool for political vengeance, be afraid. Very afraid. No president should have unlimited power to investigate, sue, arrest, & in-prison ANY American for ANY reason. @AP @Reuters

@jennyrozelle Do you have that or email password? If you ever need to contact her utilities, cable, or financial institutions... 2-factor authentication can be tough if you can't access it.

My family member is in her early 80s. Well-educated. Well-spoken. Sharp as ever on the surface. At her last appointment, the doctor asked her to draw a clock and fill in the numbers. She couldn't do it. I never would've guessed she was "that bad." That's the thing about cognitive decline. It often hides.

The Hollywood Reporter
A source close to production on #MobLand tells us Tom Hardy “refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time.” “He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.” If greenlit, season three is set to film from September, the source added, but Hardy’s on-set behavior has spooked producers. His fate is yet to be decided, despite earlier reports that he’d been fired from the show. Read the full story: hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/mob…

I trust that the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery @smithsoniannpg will take immediate steps to correct this mistake, lest its many visitors are misled about the 37th President. ⬇️

thREAD it... and article is a must read. “It all feels quite like the Handmaid’s tale,” she wrote on Sept. 24. “I had to seek refuge, travel by ambulance across borders.”

1/ At 17 weeks pregnant, Emily Waldorf was suddenly faced with a life-threatening situation: Her baby’s foot was dipping out of her cervix. Doctors told her the longer her cervix stayed open, the higher her risk of infection. They knew how to treat her. There was one issue…🧵

NEW: Sharyn Alfonsi goes scorched earth on Bari Weiss: "Over the weekend, my contract with CBS News expired, drawing to a close nearly twenty years with the network, including more than a decade at 60 Minutes. Following an intense editorial dispute over our CECOT story, repeated attempts by my representation to establish a path forward were met with absolute silence from network executives. The message could not be clearer: my time at 60 Minutes is apparently over. In the coming days, network leadership may attempt to hide behind corporate euphemisms like "modernization" and “restructuring” to explain away my departure. Don't be misled. This was not a routine corporate transition; it was a deliberate choice to penalize a journalist for refusing to sanitize factually accurate reporting, and it sends a chilling message to the entire newsroom. Fearless, independent reporting has always been the defining standard at 60 Minutes. Today, CBS management is abandoning that mission, choosing access journalism over accountability and protecting power rather than scrutinizing it. The wall between editorial independence and corporate interest at CBS is being methodically torn down. Journalists willing to challenge authority are being pushed aside in favor of those who will not. If this continues, the result will be a broadcast that looks like 60 Minutes but lacks the courage and character to produce journalism that matters. To my colleagues, who became family - working beside you has been the privilege of a lifetime. You are second to none. I’ve learned exactly what it costs to hold the line right now. Hold it anyway. Viewers and the people who trust us with their stories deserve nothing less." Backstory: - January: puck.news/inside-bari-we… - April: puck.news/bari-weiss-pla… - May: puck.news/sharyn-alfonsi…

1. It's the Reflecting Pool, not the "Reflecting Lake" 2. It's the Lincoln Memorial, not the "Lincoln Monument." 3. The Reflecting Pool is 2,030 feet long, not 2,400 feet. 4. The tallest building in the world is 2,717 feet high, nearly 700 feet more than the Reflecting Pool.

Trump: "A very long lake -- we call it the reflecting lake. Between the Lincoln Monument -- nobody has ever seen anything like it. Longer than the tallest building in the world."
