Last week they released TurboQuant, compressing AI memory by 6x with zero accuracy loss. Models that needed a $30K GPU now run on a $500 gaming card. Majority of companies are building bigger models, Google is solving the real issue, which is getting powerful AI onto hardware people already own.

Here's the pattern nobody is talking about: → They're not buying model companies → They're buying developer tooling companies → Every acquisition strengthens the ecosystem around GPT, not GPT itself → The strategy is platform lock in through DX, not model superiority OpenAI is quietly building the AWS of AI. And most builders aren't noticing until it's too late.
