A driver who killed a family of four, including two babies, at a San Francisco bus stop was sentenced to probation. Mary Fong Lau (seen here walking through the courthouse today) dodged jail and prison time.
Lau, 80, was speeding when her Mercedes SUV plowed into a West Portal bus stop in 2024, investigators said. A family was waiting to catch the bus for a trip to the zoo.
The crash killed Diego Cardoso de Oliveira, his wife, Matilde Pinto, and their two babies.
Lau stood up in the courtroom and said, “I want to say to all the family, sorry. Sorry.”

Nowhere in the update does it say anything about realism, all they do is talk about gameplay.

@yew_eee @Alkem1stCS The entire motivating example is about not removing features because they are unrealistic and that you should prioritize fun. Quantifying fun is a consequence of prioritizing it. This change they made is obvious more 'realistic' but likely less 'fun'. Time will tell.

@teetotalernt @Alkem1stCS Gabe did not say this whatsoever, he was talking about using realism to make the gameplay more interesting and immersive. Things like physics, NPC interactions, lighting etc Half Life 1 and 2 are full of things you could call realistic but it all has a purpose.

You can clear most of the game in A or A+ by killing every suspect except targets you need alive for soft objectives. Following RoE in this game does not make it more realistic IMO.
