+1 my view on this: You don't *have to* edit your text to make it pretty if you don't want to, but like a book, a fic is also a 'final product', and if the editing is not appealing to the eye, then it might be harder to read. If you like double spaces, then you're free to use ofc

On AO3, the Rich Text editor used to be wonky (I was HTML-editing everything), but since ~ 1y or st, it works perfectly. All you have to do is copy-paste your text into the rich editor. There won't be extra spaces, and your italics won't get lost either.

Not bc you have to, but if anyone is interested abt how to get rid of the extra spaces on AO3 without suffering from bad spacing in Google Docs: 📌 Format ▶️ Lines & Spacing ▶️ Remove/ADD space after paragraph - You can check if it works with the ¶ via Ctrl+Shift+P (on Windows) +

@IntenselyReadin Jokes aside, starting is the hardest and getting the daily words in. A 20 min timer can be godsend; I usually tell myself I must either look at my doc for 20 or write 500 words, then I can stop at whichever happens first. Sometimes I do stop after, sometimes only 5h later
