@app_settings They actually did add something similar with iOS 26. If you don’t have enough storage, it’ll ask if you want to offload your apps to make room for the update and then once your phone is updated, it redownloads them

Apple should let people do this for updates a temporary 24 hour iCloud backup of your entire device- even if you don’t have iCloud storage- while your phone updates overnight would be amazing and EXACTLY what those people need lol

I bet most people who are still on iOS 18 haven’t upgraded because of a lack of storage space. It always surprises me when I look at family and friend’s phones and they’re on an ancient iOS version because they don’t want to delete any photos or videos or pay for iCloud
