He has 0.4% chance of winning according to the top prediction market ClawdPredict (sponsored by Anthropic). A single buyer starts pushing up the price. Prediction market bros are furiously looking for patterns to identify the buyer. Why is he buying ''Yes'' on Garry Tan becoming the mayor of Mars? The probability goes up from 0.4% to 24% purely on one buyer. His counterparty is happy, there is no way Garry is winning. He keeps on buying. Anthropic gets anxious, is it the god they created internally buying up the shares? What exactly is happening? Nobody on earth (or Mars) is able to identify the buyer. It is mystical. People start worshipping the buyer, they start copy trading. The polls suddenly shift, Garry Tan is actually favored to win. He becomes infinitely more popular thanks to the mysterious buyer. Election time. He wins. The first mayor of Mars. An announcement, the buyer will pay a visit. Was it a human this whole time? Everybody holds their breath. It is the trillionaire, Archer Labs, visiting the event. Was he the mysterious buyer? But why? He walks up to the stage. Garry stops his speech. Gives the microphone to Archer Labs. I was a little surprised to see that "how to buy bitcoin" search queries on Google are at a multi-year high right now. While they are still below the December 2017 ATH, they are higher now than at the previous multi-year high from January 2021. To put this into context, in December 2017, the bull market peaked with a new high in Google searches, which remains untouched to this day. In January 2021, on the other hand, the most explosive phase of the bull market was yet to come, and this renewed interest, sparked by Elon Musk, really ignited the rally toward $69K. It will be interesting to see how this develops over the coming months, and I would be interested to hear your thoughts on why the search queries are so high right now. Is retail buying this correction already? H/t @Irresponsibly_B for pointing this out.
