As COVID-19 cases exceed what we saw in April, each of us is more at risk of getting the virus than ever before. This month, we're asking all Coloradans to wear a mask, keep your distance (at least six feet), and interact ONLY with members of your household. #Covid19Colorado

Key findings: 🔹Hospitalizations are rapidly increasing. If CO remains on the current path, we will likely exceed the April peak in hospitalizations by mid-Nov. 🔹The R-value (effective reproductive number) is about 1.5. 🔹About 1 in 292 Coloradans are currently infectious.

We ask all Coloradans to stay vigilant and follow the COVID-19 protocols as the cases and hospitalizations are on the rise. The seven-day positive average is 5.45%. A higher rate of positive cases indicates an increase in disease transmission and more cases going undetected.

“Something COVID-19 has taught us is that what we each do personally impacts our communities. We need everybody to do their part because as much as we would like it to be over, the pandemic is far from over." -CDPHE Executive Director Jill Hunsaker Ryan #StepUpColorado

Cases are on the rise in Colorado, and it appears that we are in a fall COVID-19 surge. We know how to keep the virus in check. We did it after the first surge and again in the summer. ✅Wear your mask. ✅Wash your hands. ✅Avoid large gatherings. ✅Stay 6 ft from others.

COVID cases are rising in Denver and in Colorado. In fact, our case rate is higher right now than its ever been. A rep from @DDPHE tells me Denver residents can expect to see several new public health orders, including more face covering requirements, as soon as tomorrow. #9NEWS

While we’ve seen the most substantial increase in cases among 18-25 year-olds, we’re seeing an overall increase among all age groups. We may be tired of the virus, but the virus is not tired of us. Let’s keep doing our part to slow the spread. #Covid19Colorado

If you celebrated with people outside of your household over Labor Day weekend, pay close attention for any COVID-19 symptoms. If you have symptoms, get tested right away. If you think you were exposed, wait seven days after the possible exposure to get tested.
