No more donations to charity here. When pennies of a dollar actually go to the ones in need and the lions share goes to administration, I’m done. Same for donations to Politicians/WINRED. Done giving support, to then have the GOP politicians stab me in the back. Strictly charitable to family only from now on.

@wil_da_beast630 I do not donate cash anymore. I buy specific items for specific purposes: for example, food for the local women & children's shelter. Not cash, not blind donations, not tithing. Food and household goods for a specific local charity.

@wil_da_beast630 I don’t give to any of the big national charities… you are mostly paying for ridiculously high salaries for the people at the top and very little of the money actually goes to the charity.

@wil_da_beast630 I donate to LOCAL organizations that serve ONE community and have a proven track record of service. Animal rescues, Local food banks, churches at times of emergency, domestic violence shelters, local schools, etc...you should be able to see how your money is used.

Before you donate, check with Charity Navigator and GuideStar online. Charity Navigator gives charities a star ratings based on how much money actually goes to the cause versus overhead, and GuideStar shows their tax filings so you can see where every dollar goes. Super useful before you donate. I found out about these two organizations from Super Grok. I had never heard of them before.
