It really didn’t take long for Skattebo to become unlikeable for me…. liked him in college, got to the NFL and he slowly chipped away on that.

To take this team to the NCAA Tournament , and then win a game, people don’t really understand what that takes. And I’m not talking about just watching the game as a fan… I’m talking about understanding the science of the game, the adjustments, the rotations, the matchups, the chess match that’s happening every single possession. Because when you really look at this team, the injuries, the inconsistency, the limited frontcourt, the ups and downs off the bench, this was not a plug-and-play situation. This was a ‘figure it out every night’ type of team. So for Coach Gottlieb to navigate all of that… keep this group together… define roles on the fly… and still get results? That’s not luck. That’s high-level coaching. And if you don’t understand that, then you’re not really watching the game — you’re just reacting to it.
