For the record, the youths arrested by the Nigerian Army and labeled as suspected bandits are actually the indigenous youths and vigilantes from our community. This is why we can't defend ourselves. Whenever our youths try to protect us, they get arrested and disarmed. Anytime this happens, the community faces attacks again, with many killed, because our defenders are locked up. These are not the real terrorists; they're still in the bushes and mountains planning their next attack, while the military, knowingly or unknowingly, helps them by disarming our people. The Nigerian Army should do a serious investigation and stop arresting our people whenever they try to defend their communities from terrorists! 🤲🏽

The efforts to entice reluctant Igbo youths to join the Army should be passed around to agencies like FIRS, CBN, Customs, NNPC which hardly recruit Igbos since the end of the war in 1970, to the point that a government was violently overthrown in 1975 for appointing an Igbo as NNPC GM. Igbos have institutional memory of the official redlines drawn against them in Nigeria.

When did it become Standard Police Procedure to publish the identity documents of suspects publicly? Why should a serving Police Officer - the officer directly responsible for the image of the @PoliceNG deem it necessary to engage in ethnic baiting in the line of duty, such as has been done by @aleeygiwa, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force? His act of publishing that passport, forged or not, has only served to malign the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force, and present it as an organisation so institutionally prejudiced against Igbos that it cannot be relied upon to perform it's study duties fairly and objectively where persons of Igbo origin are concerned. His subsequent attempts to gaslight myself and others who have called him out on his completely unusual actions have only served to further illuminate the depth of the problem. Nigeria is part of the international community. The world is watching, and can see these strange actions. It would be difficult to fault other international law enforcement agencies if they demonstrate circumspection when dealing with @PoliceNG, especially where even legitimate investigations involving persons who just do happen to be of Igbo origin are concerned. I believe it would serve @PoliceNG's international reputation well for Mr. Giwa to be cautioned and perhaps sent on a course designed to educate him on Sensitivity to Ethnic Relations in the line of Police Duty in a Multi-ethnic Nation by the police authorities. This would help him and other officers to somewhat sandbox their privately held ethnic prejudices and prevent them from bleeding over as spectacularly as this into their professional lives.
