@AbraarKaran @BrighamWomens Notable paper, highlights the problem with shared rooms in healthcare settings. You didn't mention the ventilation in these rooms? What was the air exchange in these rooms at the time?

Our new study looking at the risk of #SARSCoV2 transmission among patient roommates at @BrighamWomens hospital, now out in CID 12 out of 31 exposed roommates were infected (39%); transmission associated with lower CT values of index cases #covid19 academic.oup.com/cid/advance-ar…

Thank you @PaulSaxMD- this highlights the importance of additional screening when community incidence is high, such as serial testing, and the need to assess which patients are placed in shared rooms.

Need collaboration among medical systems and/or a meta-analysis to estimate healthcare-associated respiratory infections related to shared rooms and to elucidate the weight of each factor: duration of exposure, air exchanges, room area, source characteristics (low CT values), etc
