perhaps the most interesting and inspiring story in the world of WEB3 in recent times👀
Colossus@colossusmag

This is the story of Hyperliquid, the most profitable startup per employee on earth, told from a guarded office in Singapore. Last year, its team of 11 generated $900 million in profit. It's 3 years old, has never taken a dollar of venture capital, and is beginning to change how century-old markets work. Its founder, Jeffrey Yan (@chameleon_jeff), had never taken a physics class when he picked up a textbook at 16. Two years later, he won gold at the International Physics Olympiad. In 2019, he started trading with $10,000 from a living room in Puerto Rico—working off a television because he didn't own a monitor. Within 3 years, he was running one of the largest anonymous crypto trading firms. Then he shut it down. Yan was rich and free, but he had spent years inside crypto, watching it betray itself. Bitcoin's central premise was decentralization. Yet the biggest exchanges were centralized. Crypto kept reintroducing the dependence on trust it was built to eliminate. He set out to create what should have existed. Hyperliquid is a blockchain with a trading exchange on top, and anyone can build on it. Yan's vision is to house all of finance. In 3 years, it has done over $4 trillion in volume. And in the past few months, it has begun to outgrow crypto. Markets for oil, silver, and the S&P 500 now trade on Hyperliquid around the clock, weekends included, and are growing roughly 40% week on week. When the US and Israel bombed Iran on a Saturday in February, Hyperliquid was the venue traders turned to. Hyperliquid's success has cost Yan his freedom. He works out of a secret office in Singapore and cannot travel without two bodyguards. Even the team's housekeeper doesn't know what they do. In January, @domcooke spent a week at their office. Read his profile on Yan and @HyperliquidX below.

Moonbeam
Moonbeam@MoonbeamNetwork·
The Moonbeam × @thehellolabs Web3 Gaming Incubator is officially running! Kicked off last week, this 10-week program brings together game builders, media, and the Moonbeam ecosystem to help teams build, grow, and reach real audiences. Built on Moonbeam’s interoperable smart contract platform and powered by HELLO Labs’ global media reach, teams will develop their games while gaining exposure through @KillerWhalesTV, a web3 reality TV show reaching 500M+ viewers across platforms like Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Over the next 10 weeks, teams will focus on product development, gameplay, community growth, and onchain engagement, with weekly milestones and support from Moonbeam, HELLO Labs, and the Killer Whales network. The program runs through May 12 and will culminate in Killer Whales LIVE, where teams pitch their projects to a global audience. Come back tomorrow to meet the teams!

I would like to say a few words to the @DataHaven_xyz community. Yesterday we all received very difficult news. The decision to shut down the project is not an easy one - and first of all, it is probably the hardest for the core team itself. Try to put yourselves in their place. Imagine how difficult it must be to close something you have worked on for such a long time and invested so much energy into. What truly deserves respect is the honesty shown here. In the Web3 space, messages like this are extremely rare. Most projects simply disappear -Discord servers get closed silently, Twitter pages vanish, and no explanations are given. Sometimes it’s even worse: projects launch and are later abandoned without any communication at all. That’s why I believe the team deserves understanding and respect in this situation. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all regional moderators who supported the community for such a long time. Your work truly mattered, and it will always remain part of what we built together. Each of you - including the regional moderators - can proudly add this experience to your journey. Not everyone reaches roles like this or grows into a content creator T1 / T2 / T3. Many of you developed right before my eyes, and I truly believe we did a lot to help each other grow in many different ways. In many respects, that was one of our main goals from the very beginning. Your dedication, time, and effort meant a lot for this community. I would also like to thank every single community member who contributed in any way - whether you completed at least one quest, created even a single piece of art, or simply showed up and wrote a few “GMoose” messages in the chat. Anyone who spent even a few minutes of their day on our server deserves sincere appreciation. I also sincerely hope that the work I did for the community was valuable to you and that our communication was helpful and positive. I truly hope I was able to contribute something meaningful during this time. Just like for many of you, this news was completely unexpected for me as well. To be honest, I still feel quite empty inside after everything that happened. For now, I plan to take a little time to rest - but only for a short while, maybe a week or two. During that time I will also be thinking about what to do next. Over the past year I was online 24/7 - not simply because I had to, but because I genuinely wanted to be here. And the reason for that was you. The community we built together kept pulling me back every single day. You were the reason I woke up in the morning, came online, and tried to do something useful for the community throughout the day. Your presence and support were a real source of motivation for me. I would also like to say a special thank you to the members of the MooseDoor channel. The atmosphere there was always especially warm. And of course, I will never forget the morning greetings from Rasberryyyyyyy aka @rocknrolll1960 😁 - they brought a huge smile to my face every day. 🫶😁 Please remember that everything in Web3 should be seen as experience. Every step, every project, every piece of art, every GIF, and every action you take in this space becomes part of your story. Always focus on quality and continue building your path. Projects may end, but the people, experience, and stories we built together will always remain. Thank you all for being part of this journey. And of course, I would also like to send my love and gratitude to my amazing coworkers: @real_NFT @MpmTos @RyanJLevy @taichka2005 @GilangSptr13 @vickroscryptos and Yuki. Thank you for everything. Yours, Benzi
