Today’s number talk had students pulling out a variety of strategies to count the number of paper clips. While most used partial products, some even saw the nets of cubes and completed surface area calculations for 3D shapes. Something tells me we are going to have fun this year!

Team “Building” challenge. Table groups choose which of the 3 lego items to build and then work together to construct it. We learned a great deal about ourselves as collaborative learners and the importance of inclusion and giving everyone a voice
