@pssd_killjoy Wait’ll they develop advanced PSSD. They certainly won’t rather be alive then. And there’s no drug they can take to fix it.

Why do I even bother spreading awareness and warning people about PSSD when the average response is “I’d rather be alive”… I’m so mad right now.

They don't see a patient suffering neurological harm from a rapid taper; they see a walking billboard for a new antipsychotic, benzodiazepine or stabilizer.

@Psychiatry_Anti Ever been in a Psychiatric Institution? I have. They’ve taken me off my meds COLD TURKEY several times off multiple meds at once leaving me brain damaged. Psychiatrists are sadistic abusers and they’re fully aware of it. It’s not ignorance, it’s malice.

Ripping a psychiatric drug away too fast can cause a biological shockwave, and the person who caused it will just tell you to double your dose or add three more drugs to "manage" the damage. Sadly, many doctors were never properly trained in hyperbolic tapering or the realities of nervous system sensitization and withdrawal injury. For decades, rapid tapers were (and still are) treated as standard practice, leaving countless patients confused, destabilized, and told their suffering was a relapse rather than withdrawal. This is why global tapering and withdrawal communities have emerged, because hundreds of thousands of patients were forced to learn from lived experience when adequate guidance and support were missing.

@functionalnurse I couldn’t get off Lexapro but in my own way I’m not letting it win. I’m h**ging myself. Probably tonight. I can’t live with dignity due to how psych drugs have destroyed me, so I’m choosing to die with dignity.

The only memories I have for what I was like in my 20s are from photos. I’m 31 and pretty much do not remember any of my 20s due to an #ssri (lexapro) completely blunting my emotions, preventing me from forming/keeping relationships, and causing cognitive issues.

@pssdganjedi I'm literally on the Sanction S**cide forums as we speak refreshing myself on the right way to h*ng myself. If you do it right it actually doesn't hurt that bad. I've done practice runs to gauge the sensation.

@hanna_pssd Appearances are deceiving. Numbing people's emotions makes it easier for people to act out and signal positive emotions to others because it's done from a place of detachment. But inside, they're hollow empty shells of their former selves. This is how SSRIs really work.

What do psychiatrists think of themselves when they say, “I’ve seen my patients improve with antidepressants”? I would feel like a total failure if my patient ”improved” not because I helped them through dialogue and listening, but because I numbed their emotions with a pill.

For what it’s worth, I understand. 14 involuntary Psych Institution imprisonments where I was forcibly drugged to the point of PAS that left my brain beyond repair. I’m ready to end myself soon over it, I can’t take it anymore, just sitting here unable to do basic tasks like a dementia patient.

Finally stopped having to explain myself to anyone irl. Done with that shit. What a waste of time. Nobody needs to understand me. Even if they did, they can't do anything about my severe pssd or my psychiatry trauma. Everyone's just in their own world, that's just human nature...

@solipsi5t Exactly. The loss of sexuality is bad enough but once the anhedonia and cognitive impairment kicks in... it's so over.

We shouldn't name our condition PSSD. It implies that our problem is only sexual, which is very inaccurate. We also deal with severe anhedonia, cognitive impairment, memory loss, complete loss of emotions etc. We should rename this condition to PSD. "Post SSRI Syndrome". Precise
