Starvation from stopping agricultural equipment seems like a stretch. You have large cereal stockpiles for buffer, you have very good manual alternatives for equipment and most humans can survive on rationed food. The real dependency is on energy and transport. Just look at what people attack in war. They don’t burn farms. They take out critical transports routes and power.
Recent major famines have come when the state controlled food production. If we relied on AI for governance then this would be a much greater risk

I haven't flipped from being an AI optimist to being an AI doomer. But I am definitely more worried about AI risk than I was a few months ago -- especially about bioterror.

Incredible account… Guy in Johannesburg posts nothing but pictures of the same spot 15-20 years apart. South Africa after decolonization.

@TheImmortalKop Issue with Thiago is that 2 of these “best moments” led to a goal scoring opportunity or opened up play. Thiago was a blunt knife on the field

In daily life, it’s easy to get swept up in routine and forget where we came from.
Seeing chimps in person is a powerful reminder of how inseparable we are from the rest of life, and how deeply it binds us together.
Grateful for people like Jane Goodall, who devoted so much to preserving our history and protecting our closest relatives.

There's someone impersonating me here on X and promoting a fake Patreon. I don't have a Patreon right now.
People impersonating me happens often, but this is the first time I've seen someone creating a fake subscription using my own content. Please don't give them your money.
@Patreon @X Can you help?

Software development is more than just coding.
Introducing Droids -- the world's first software development agents. 🤖
Starting today, Droids are available for general access.
Factory integrates with your entire engineering system (GitHub, Slack, Linear, Notion, Sentry) and serves that context to your Droids as they autonomously build production-ready software.
Factory is the first platform that allows you to work with agents: local + synchronous and remote + asynchronous.
