A few years back, trips to Palm Coast included two dogs who looked forward to walks. One of them was deaf and blind but used his sense of smell to get around. An ailing old JBLAB — Jack Russell Beagle Lab mix — who enjoyed these adventures as much as the drives there and back. One day we came across this Tortoise. He, too, sensed that we were there but meant him no harm. He eventually navigated back to the area surrounded by trees and overgrowth. I named him Fred.
