✨“Being an inspiration to other UGC creators is incredibly rewarding; helping others bring their creativity to life is truly special”✨ - Apax, UGC creator! Hey Guys🙌!! Today I want to share with you the amazing interview I did with one of the icons of UGC creation in the Pixels community, ✨Apax✨ @Apax_pixels 🥳!!! Creating UGCs for Pixels @pixels_online is much more than adding objects to the game 😌; it's about leaving a personal mark on a collective universe😍. In my opinion, few represent this essence as well as Apax🙌!! If today I am a ✨Pixels UGC creator✨, I owe it to my teacher Apax @Apax_pixels !! He encouraged me, gave me valuable tips, and showed me that with dedication and creativity it was possible to create incredible UGCs🥰🙏😉!! During our chat, Apax said he had no prior experience with pixel art. He himself says: ✨ "Creating UGCs was my first experience with any form of digital art" ✨. This courage to start from scratch shows that talent can be born from curiosity and the desire to experiment.😎 Apax is an example of how consistency builds skills 💪 and that each UGC rejection, however sad and frustrating, is just a stepping stone towards success🙌😊. His work not only makes our daily lives in Pixels more beautiful and welcoming, but also strengthens the community, showing that anyone can transform ideas into art 😌😉🙌✨😊 I invite you all to read this interview and learn about the story of this incredible Pixel Art artist! 😉🥰🙌 _____________________🎙️________________________ 🎙️Lalle: Before creating UGCs, did you already have skills in Pixel Art? ✨ Apax: No. Creating UGCs was my first experience with any form of digital art. 🎙️ Lalle: When did you become interested in submitting UGCs to Pixels? What motivated you? ✨ Apax: I became interested shortly after joining Pixels. After Silverwing got her first UGC approved, it motivated me to give it a try myself. 🎙️ Lalle: What was your first approved UGC? Tell me more about the idea behind it and how it felt to see your art in the game. ✨ Apax: My first approved UGCs were the Skateboard Display and the Safe, which were approved at the same time. I loved skateboarding as a kid, and I thought a safe would be a fun UGC. Seeing them placed in the game for the first time was surreal. 🎙️ Lalle: Of all your pieces, which is the most special? Why? ✨ Apax: I would say the Safe is the most special to me. When it was approved, it garnered a lot of attention from the community, and fueled my initial inspiration to keep creating. 🎙️ Lalle: How many UGCs do you currently have approved on Pixels? ✨ Apax: I currently have 17 approved UGCs. 🎙️ Lalle: Do you remember your first rejected UGC? What was it like, and how did you feel? ✨ Apax: My first rejection was the Bowling Lane, due to the perspective being too top-down. The feedback was valid, the bowling pins had a slightly different perspective than the rest of the piece. I was disappointed at first and moved on to other projects. Several months later, I revisited it, made the necessary adjustments, resubmitted it, and it was approved immediately. 🎙️ Lalle: Do you have a favorite UGC theme or style? ✨ Apax: I enjoy creating real-life items, especially things that are personally meaningful to me. Leaving a personal mark on the game is important to me. 🎙️ Lalle: What is the most difficult part of creating Pixel Art UGCs for Pixels? ✨ Apax: Shading is the hardest part to master. It takes a lot of practice, experimentation, and trial and error to develop strong techniques. 🎙️ Lalle: On average, how long does it take to complete a piece? How does it feel to inspire other creators? ✨ Apax: On average, it takes about 5–10 hours per piece. Sketching is usually quick, but shading, detailing (especially animations) take the most time. Being an inspiration to other creators is incredibly rewarding, helping other creators bring their creativity to life is really special. 🎙️ Lalle: What message do you have for new and veteran UGC creators? ✨ Apax: Rejections are part of the process, don’t take them personally. Keep creating, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to set a project aside and come back to it later. Consistency is how skills are built.
