Most agencies charge for the build. One fee. Project delivered. Client runs it. Something goes wrong six weeks later. Client emails. The agency is already onto the next thing. The real value isn't the build. It's knowing why it's broken at 11pm on a Friday and being able to fix it before Monday morning. The agencies doing well on retainer are the ones who realised voice AI isn't a project. It's infrastructure. And nobody wants to own infrastructure without someone on the other end of the phone.

You just hit Claude's limit. Again. Now you're thinking about upgrading to $100/month. Don't. Here are 9 fixes that make the $20 plan more than enough. You're not running out of Claude. You're running it wrong.

9/ You burn your whole limit by 10am and think you're done. Fix: Claude runs on a rolling 5-hour window. Split your work across the day. Your limit refills as you go. You're not out. You're just impatient.

8/ You leave search and connectors on by default. Fix: Default everything off. Turn features on per task, not per account. Every connector running = every message costs more than it should.

7/ You keep 3 topics running in one chat. Claude re-reads all of it. Every. Single. Message. Fix: New topic = new chat. Always. Dead context = dead tokens. It really is that simple.

6/ Your about-me context file is 22,000 words. Fix: Trim to under 2,000. Then end every session with: "Write a session-notes .md" Paste it next time instead of reloading the whole backstory. Context stays sharp. Limit stays intact.

5/ You're using Opus to fix a typo. Fix: → Sonnet for quick tasks → Opus + Extended Thinking for deep, complex work Right model. Right job. You wouldn't use a sledgehammer to hang a picture frame.

4/ You rewrite the same prompt from scratch every session. Fix: Build a prompt library. Same structure. Swap the variable. Write it once. Use it forever. And when a prompt goes wrong - click Edit, fix it, regenerate. Stop typing "no I meant..." on a broken thread.

3/ You say "redo the whole thing" when only section 3 is wrong. Fix: "Only redo section 3. Keep everything else. No commentary. Just output." Surgical beats nuclear. Every single time.

2/ You write 500-word prompts. They eat your limit before Claude even starts. Fix: 29 words instead. "I want to [task] to achieve [goal]. Ask me questions using AskUserQuestion." Let Claude pull what it needs. Stop front-loading everything.

1/ You're uploading PDFs raw. 1 page = 3,000 tokens. Same page as .md = under 200. Fix: Paste into Google Docs → Download as .md → upload that. That's a 15x saving. Per. Document.
