@evankirstel Pretty sure that this camera placement is meant to improve ARKit tracking by offering 3 different point of view for better depth perception. Same reason for the wide lens, to have more features on screen for tracking continuity.

@karanganesan @MugOfPaul Actually it was 2009 because before that you couldn’t use the camera api on iOS to add functionalities like image analysis. And Android was still super new.
