I’ve been streaming Brawlhalla full time since 2019. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but the current state of Twitch and the way this community consumes content honestly hurts. Giveaway culture has done real damage. I’m guilty of feeding into it too, but it’s reached a point where effort barely matters anymore. I’ve spent thousands of dollars and countless sleepless nights building something I was proud of. The production, the atmosphere, the community. That used to matter. Now, if you’re not handing out codes nonstop, most people don’t care. People sit in streams not even watching gameplay, just chasing rewards for a game they won’t even play. Over the last 6–9 months it’s become clear that I’m spending more each month than the stream brings in. API costs, subscriptions, tools. All of it adds up, and it starts to feel pointless. This isn’t for pity or sympathy. It’s just my personal Twitter, and I needed to get it off my chest. I’ll always show up on the desk when BMG calls. I’ll keep running Bearded Brawls. But when it comes to the day to day grind, I honestly don’t know where to go from here.
