@prairieoceanboy I'm first a born Canadian who served in the Canadian military for 10 years. I have lived in different places and also hold British and New Zealand citizenship. Anyways if he is what you call 'stay at home' husband now, surely that's ok. 4 kids, career, etc.

My post congratulating the new CDS who also happens to also be the first woman to become a 4 leaf General led to a torrent of toxic and stupid posts and it gives us a small glimpse of what women have to put up with online. A few elements really bothered me. 1/4

And many people don’t understand that the CDS cannot reject direction from the govt. The military serves the govt of the day & is not political. If you don’t like the govt, use your vote to change it and when you do know that our military serves to safeguard that right. 🇨🇦 4/4

@smgaddis Endless requests to peer review and now I also ask others to peer review. Getting 'no's' back or no response at all... I see it from both sides now. It's a brutal system.

@acagamic 99% of papers (or higher) will never be remembered by anybody. Relationships, friendships, how you made people feel.... that's something you will be remembered for, good or bad.

What if academia wasn't about all the papers you published in the end, but about all the friends you made along the way?
