Today, Ms. Alaknanda Bhowal, I.P.S, Superintendent of Police, Basirhat Police District, briefed the police officers and forces of all police stations of Basirhat Police District; regarding the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in connection with the upcoming WBLA Elections-2026. The briefing was done on the 6 agenda points, that the elections are to be ensured: 1. Violence Free 2. ⁠Intimidation Free 3. ⁠Inducement Free 4. ⁠No Chappa 5. ⁠No Booth Jamming 6. ⁠No Source Jamming, to ensure free and fair elections.

Representatives from the civil administration, including BDOs and other civil sector officials, were also present. During the briefing, necessary instructions and information were provided to ensure that the upcoming election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. Additionally, as on other days, intensive surveillance measures were carried out across different areas of the district under the leadership of senior officers and in the presence of CAPF personnel.
