what's so perfect about this arc so far is how the writers clearly setting us on two different struggles. maybe more, but I'm focusing on just these; (1/?)

and the whole core point of the series is not to do things alone. so it's not just jay learning to warm up to them but also the others trying to understand him like you can see it in how gently nya and kai handle jay's bursts of memories, for example

we've seen how jay reacts to his memories coming back, it's all over the place. if he cried this hard over the memory of his pet turtle running away when he was little, imagine the worst ones

I feel like jay gradually getting some of his memories back is the only way to move this arc forward especially since we're already on season four and his arc isn't the main plot we literally still don't know anything about what happened to him after the merge, so it makes sense

external struggles. who erased his memories, what was erased and why him of all the ninja

internal struggles. identity crisis with him asking who he was and who he's supposed to be, along with self doubt and low self worth feeling like he's not good enough also, he still has shattered goodness

DR S4PT1 SPOILERS// day 3 of overhyperanalyzing this extremely tasteful sequence. when jay goes for the kiss, he doesn't immediately put his lips together, but HE OPENS HIS MOUTH and, judging by the way he moves his head right after, I'd say there was PLENTY of tongue there.
