@bornposting Sony wanted to shoehorn in an emotional depth to the Blofeld name now being in their legal possession following the Thunderball debacle.
Never mind Mr. White was CLEARLY hinted at being Bond's nemesis from CR, right down to the name suggesting a reference to Blofeld's white cat.

SPECTRE. We finally get another film featuring Blofeld and SPECTRE and it's hugely disappointing. Some decent scenes but once again the script is undercooked and everything to do with Blofeld is awful, especially the Brofeld revelation and trying to tie him in to previous films.

@Really007pod @007 I enjoy parts of Spectre, although not as much as I should. The Brofeld thing was a godawful misstep, leading into the equally dire and reductive ‘it’s been me all along’ rubbish. God, what a waste of Spectre and Blofeld after all those years. Prison sentences for all involved.
