Anyone who has ever been to the DMV or similar agencies knows how slow and overwhelmed they already are. Do people who actually support this kind of stupidity think with even a tiny part of their brain? When someone proposes something “better,” does anyone stop to ask: better for who, and at what cost to others it may harm? For a free and fair election, ask yourself this: is the small number of people who might break the law, despite existing laws already requiring citizenship to vote, really worth creating barriers that make voting less free and less fair for everyone else? Especially for people who may lack the time, resources, or ability to navigate systems you already know are overly complicated. By the way, those voices are often the ones that need to be heard the most. Let me simplify it for you. Being too stupid to realize you’re stupid is one thing. Knowing something is stupid, recognizing it creates unnecessary harm, and choosing to do it anyway is stupidity on an entirely different level. I am fine with making the voting system more secure and better. However, that requires strategic thinking first, which we clearly do not have, and second, a real deployment plan that ensures American citizens are not forced to jump through excessive obstacles just to vote as they always have. Has anyone ever been part of a truly bad corporate rollout, where software, processes, or procedures get changed and halfway through everyone realizes what an absolute mess it is? That chaos usually comes from a lack of strategic thinking, planned by people who did not fully understand the consequences. As someone who has cleaned up many large scale corporate and big tech messes, I can speak from authority and experience. What I am saying is true, and it is even more true within our own governmental systems, which are deeply antiquated.
