Last week, we gathered to celebrate newly certified and renewed National Board-Certified Teachers across Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Recognized as the gold standard of teaching excellence, this achievement reflects dedication, growth, and commitment to our students.

At last week’s Board of Education meeting, we were proud to honor a group of @CharMeckSchools students for their courage and quick thinking. When a neighbor’s home caught fire, these students acted immediately to alert the family and help ensure everyone got out safely.

On Capitol Hill this week, Board members London and Monterrey Duvall met with Congresswoman Alma Adams, Congressman Tim Moore, and staff from Senator Thom Tillis, Congresswoman Deborah Ross, and Senator Ted Budd.

"Perseverance means continuing to move forward even when things are difficult. Sometimes we face challenges in school, at home, or in our communities that make us want to give up, but perseverance reminds us that growth comes from continuing to try.” Thank you, Joshua.

A special shout out to Joshua Andrews, from Cato Middle College, who served as our pledge leader at last Tuesday’s Board meeting. He also read a short essay on perseverance.

A big thank you to Principal Arledge for welcoming Board Member Hatch to Blythe Elementary today! From greeting students at morning drop-off to being a special guest reader for Read Across America Week, it was a fantastic visit.

At Tuesday's Board meeting, the Board will conduct a first reading, hold a public hearing, and vote on the proposed modifications to Policy B-POL: Political Solicitations in Schools.

The IRC Committee Meeting will be held on Monday, March 9 (in person). The Regular Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 10 (in person and online).

Join us this afternoon for our next Policy Committee Meeting.

The Community Capital & Bond Committee meeting scheduled for today, February 27, has been cancelled. This meeting will be rescheduled.

Our next Family & Community Engagement Committee meeting is on Monday at 8:00 a.m.
