@GameStrikerX2 @mount_lanayru i swear people see Ganondorf be a little pathetic and sad about what he's lost and completely get amnesia over the fact he's a young girl abducting bastard who was ultimately still in pursuit of ambition and power.

@mount_lanayru So, you've never played Wind Waker? The best iteration of Ganondorf yet widely agreed upon by a majority of the community? The one time we got a Ganondorf that showed ambition other than domination and power, everybody loved it, people love that, people want to see that more.

@GameStrikerX2 @mount_lanayru you mean the iteration of Ganondorf that is explicitly stated multiple times to be the reason the world was flooded to begin with? the Ganondorf that openly admits his primary motivation is being a covetous bastard and wants the gods to literally give the world to him? :|

@DR4GMIRES @mount_lanayru N64 Ganondorf is modeled after Raoh from Fist of the North Star and fuckin' Christopher Lambert. Reducing Ganon to "racist stereotypes" because hes a badguy from a desert is being ignorant of all the other influences that go into his character in favor of a superficial read.

@mount_lanayru Yes an most of those traits come from racist stereotypes!!! People actually want nuance especially since almost every game he’s in he’s used to prop up imperialist propaganda

@DR4GMIRES @mount_lanayru no, those traits come from Journey to the West. Ganondorf and Ganon are the same damn character, and original recipe Ganon was based off Zhu Bajie.

@RobinPoedev people really forgetting that the whole reason the worl was destroyed by a flood in the first place in Wind Waker is because GANONDORF CAME BACK AND SHOWED HIS ASS and the only way to stop him was for the gods to go with the nuclear option. redeemable my whole ass lmao

@_claypot ganondorf isnt evil because of prophecy making him that way hes evil because he's a greedy dick. the prophecy is self-fulfilling. his karma is out of whack. hes damned to a cycle by his own hand.

@_claypot a ganondorf that is reluctant isn't ganondorf. ganondorf is defined by power, ambition, and ruthlessness. mayhe his motivations can be sympathetic, even admirable, but where he falls apart is that no matter how noble his motives may be, his actions are inexcusable.

@BrerOswald screw the audience, the shit i see mario and star fox fans get at each other's ass just this week alone tells me they should never be fucking listened to. consumerism created a culture of entitlement where creatives are expected to meet demands instead of making what they want.

@DynamicFlashy @nonregemesse any artist pursuing what he wants is never a waste. art is MADE for the ARTIST first, and everyone else secondary and can go to hell if they dont like it. not you nor me nor anyone else is owed anything by anyone creative. the talent works for the talent's interests.

@CappnRob @nonregemesse Still a waste of talent. Avatar is nothing compared to the films I mentioned. Again, this post is about the waste of talent, not about the money he made.

@mount_lanayru Also (to the qrt)...NO IT DOESN'T! 😭😭😭 He says all that "nuance" and then literally goes back on ALL of it the second he doesn't get what he wanted (like a child!) And literally threatens to kill CHILDREN lmao He's ontologically evil there too! 😂

Ganondorf in all three of his incarnations has always been ontologically evil. he schemes and betrays like it's as natural as breathing. he spills blood without a care in pursuit of ultimate power. also, he is literally an incarnation of the undying hatred of Super Saiyan Satan.

Ganondorf never was ontologically evil. Ganon is. Wind Waker showed that there was a lot more nuance behind his actions. Really, people are just tired of the cycle being used as an excuse to reuse the same concepts every single fucking time and never evolve the series.

@DynamicFlashy @nonregemesse yeah, dude made a gorillion dollars over the 80s and 90s and decided to spend the next 30 years making weird scifi movies about blue catgirls with that gorillion dollars, and theyve made a gorillion-illion more since then. thats the artistic dream.

@mess_critical @nonregemesse avatars also a lot less consumer friendly. there was a pretty big navi fan movement when the first movie came out though, lots of cosplayers then.

@CappnRob @nonregemesse People dress up as marvel characters, they pretend to be jedi and constantly quote lines from terminator. You dont see anywhere near this level of enthusiasm for Avatar

@mess_critical @nonregemesse no cultural impact yet noone can seem to shut the fuck up about how much they think it sucks despite the fact that by every possible metric it does indeed not seem to suck. though, yes, theyre not quite the revolutions that cameron's older stuff was, but neither was the Abyss.

@CappnRob @nonregemesse Sure it makes money but Terminator and Titanic were cultural sensations. Avatar movies need to be studied for how something can be so successful while basically having no cultural impact

@TwistedWell @TeamGhostWhale @marauder_matt @Gabriel1847835 oh he absolutely is. we all have our role to play, our place in the universe, thats all a bit part of Star Wars, and Han comes around on the Force when telling luke "may the force be with you". his saving luke at the end is just as much the Force as Luke firing the torpedo.

@CappnRob @TeamGhostWhale @marauder_matt @Gabriel1847835 Very easy to argue that Han Solo is just another tool of the force. Almost his whole life is the result of force favoring his outcomes while he logically denies its role in things happening. Regardless of what he believes, he's a part of the machinations of the force :|

@SuzukiAnni @_MissClick_ this comes back to my point that remake is in intent. RE2 remake was made to be a remake. Star Fox Zero was not. theres no hard rules for defining this stuff.

@CappnRob @_MissClick_ That's just splitting hairs at this point Resident evil 2 remake was somewhat the same story but had different gameplay taken inspiration from future games and it's universally called a remake.

@SuzukiAnni @_MissClick_ i think that is what Miyamoto specifically called Zero actually. he said something along the lines of "its not a remake or a reboot". it was meant to be a new entrypoint for the series to newcomers.
