If memory serves a % of primary + a % of secondary sales went into purchasing $OMI from the markets to replenish the reserve wallet. The tokenomics were never easy to understand and were constantly changed. And as soon as the buybacks started advisors/lawyers (?) pointed out: this could be dangerous. So they were promptly halted. Where are we today? There’s no more Reserve Wallet and the removing of OMI tokens from the non-circulating supply. Excellent! Because every OMI utility introduced is removing tokens from the CIRCULATING supply. It seems that the StackR+ECOMI team have found out yet another way to compliantly remove $OMI tokens from circulation. So far we have OMI to NFTs + OMI to Gems = the users voluntarily agree to a % of their tokens to be burned. With USDC to Gems they’re indirectly (or is it directly😉) tapping into the primary sales of VeVe DiCo. Apparently a % of these purchases with USDC will be used for… "Buybacks".
