The welfare state was one of the greatest engines of prosperity ever created: healthier children, educated workers, security that allowed people to innovate and take risks.
The problem is extraction, an economy where wealth flows upwards and away from the communities that create it.
A society cannot cut its way to prosperity if its productive foundations are being hollowed out.

🇺🇸/IRAN - On Claims of "Final Deal" Being Reached Between US and Iran
▪️The "terms" supposedly agreed to have zero to do with why the US actually launched its illegal war of aggression on Iran in the first place (pushing toward regime change, cutting off China, disrupting Asia's rise);
▪️The "terms" are 100% based in fantasy, just like those of the "ceasefire" that never existed in practice;
▪️Maybe Iran is surrendering without saying so publicly like Venezuela completely did - let's hope not;
▪️Or maybe this is just another fake "deal" the US and its proxies will continue to undermine/violate while slowly rearming and reorganizing ahead of further large-scale aggression just like the "ceasefire" they never actually observed;
▪️As far as the war "ending," that is purely a fantasy removed from all material reality - this is a war waged on various levels since the 1970s amid US designs of politically capturing Iran stretching back to the 1950s;
▪️Meanwhile the US continues to escalate along ALL other fronts of the global war on multipolarism the US war on Iran is just a part of;

It's pretty disgraceful that there has been absolutely no mention of this from the Prime Minister.
It's increasingly clear that some attacks, correctly, warrant disgust, emergency measures and days of media coverage.
Others seem to be met with silence.

Greater Manchester Police have issued an appeal for information after a suspected arson attack on the home of an Imam in Bolton last night. Footage shows a masked man throwing a lit object through a front window. The Patel family were safely evacuated by emergency services and no one was injured. Police said they believe the incident was targeted and are investigating. In a statement, Hassan Patel said the attack has caused "significant damage to our house and emotional distress to our family, including our children.”

This is barbaric. They were not permitted to explain to the jury why they carried out the attack on the Elbit factory - which makes the weapons that kill Palestinian children. And the jury was never told they would be sentenced as terrorists. /1

The 1960s apartheid govt of South Africa labelled the ANC as terrorists and used a compliant judiciary to suppress their activists and supporters. Today's British govt uses the same tactics against Palestine Action and its supporters.
Here's a photo of Judge Quartus de Wet who sentenced Nelson Mandela to life in prison, alongside Judge Jeremy Johnson who yesterday sentenced four Palestine Action activists as terrorists, even though they were never charged with terrorism, because such a charge would've been thrown out by every jury in the land.
Johnson would have fitted in very well in South Africa's apartheid regime.

The Philippines faces an existential threat.
No, not "Chinese expansionism in the South CHINA Sea," but the fact the Philippines is LITERALLY OCCUPIED by US troops who are forcing the country to divert national resources from development to proxy war - into turning the Philippines into the "Ukraine" of Southeast Asia against China, the Philippines' largest trading partner.
If the people of the Philippines do not reverse US occupation and oust the US client regime in power now - they will suffer a fate at least as bad as Ukraine.
They are already suffering decades-spanning poverty because of their status as a proxy serving US interests at the expense of the Philippines' actual interests.

The US - they were literally an outright colony of the US - when they first fought for independence against US occupation and control, the US instituted concentration camps and systematic torture - this according to the US State Department's OWN account:
