It was an honor covering Bruce Cassidy on a daily basis for the last 4 seasons. I don't think there's a coach in pro sports who puts more effort into explaining intricacies to the media and fans. It didn't matter if he was in a bad mood from a loss, or if the question was worded awkwardly; Cassidy always took the time to give a well-thought-out, thorough answer. Everyone in the room leaves a Cassidy presser knowing more about hockey than they did when they walked in. Things obviously haven't worked out this year, but he's a hell of a hockey coach and will undoubtedly succeed at his next stop.

John Tortorella's record is 115-133-45 (.469) in his last 4 seasons as an NHL head coach. He has won two playoff series since 2013. He has not guided a team to a division championship since 2012 and has failed to finish above 3rd in 10 consecutive seasons.
