I don’t think my Night Lord model looks good and it’s really upsetting me. I legit have ONLY the itty bitty detail left but idk something is throwing me OFF. I think it’s the helmet maybe— I’m going to repaint it.

@CommanderFemboi Might I suggest an alternative? Emperor's Children have a direct parallel in One Page Rules' Grimdark Future. The game is much more accessible for newer players.

I’m actually selling my entire Emperor Children’s army minus 3 marines and Fulgrim because that the hell and I going to do with like 30 minis and no one to learn to play the tabletop with. So I shall sell it for super cheap to someone who will actually use them! I am not that advanced yet.

@JangotheBlueFox ….I have been using layer paints as base paints 😔 I FEEL LIKE THEY DO WELL.

@CommanderFemboi my basic method for painting anything is to start with a citadel base paint and then use citadel layer paints to do the highlights. the only speed paints I use is one for human skin because I just don't feel like going to all the trouble of painting faces.

First Giveaway item packed! I think I might also give away these fuck ass speed paint markers 😭 I HATE THEM. But some guy bought them for me for my birthday coming up but I do NOT use them. Unfortunately I already discarded the box, didn’t touch them but they need to get out of my paint box because they take up room I need for my new Army Painter set.

@JangotheBlueFox I one time used a red speed paint thinking “oh I could use this as a shade” Completely coated the entire base color 😀 I wanted to cry. I actually have a few contrast bottles from citadel but they’re all extremely light colors I use for eye highlights.

@CommanderFemboi speed paints are basically shade paints but you're intended to use them as your base coat and do basically no other work to the surface. they don't provide a smooth coat on larger surfaces. the Citadel equivalent of these are contrast paints.

@CommanderFemboi I've always found that normal acrylic paints work better than speed paints. speed paints are only useful if you're trying to quickly paint an entire army but the issue I have with them is they're impossible to clean up. if you mess up applying the paint you can't touch it up.
